FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Spots & Melasma

Sun Spots (actinic lentigines) are localised brown spots caused by melanin accumulation from UV exposure. Melasma is a diffuse, often hormonal pigmentation disorder that responds differently to treatment.

The laser effectively removes existing Sun Spots. Without rigorous sun protection after treatment, new spots may appear. Annual maintenance is recommended.

No. SPF 50+ sun protection is mandatory for 4 to 6 weeks after each session. Unprotected exposure can worsen pigmentation and compromise results.

1 to 3 sessions are enough for most Sun Spots. Melasma, which is more complex, may require a longer protocol combined with complementary medical treatment.

Melasma is triggered by hormonal changes (contraceptive pill, pregnancy), sun exposure and genetic predisposition. It is more common in women and in medium to dark skin types.
